Other Coffs HarbourworthMust goOther attractions include:
Jetty Beach
The Promenade Pier was built in August 1892. It is 500 meters long and 92 meters wide. It is a great place to enjoy the sunrise or sunset. It belongs to the entire Coffs Harbour Port, not far from the city and the airport. If you come here on Sundays, you can also participate in the local holiday market: Harbourside Markets. Every Sunday, many local merchants gather here to set up stalls, selling goods ranging from agricultural products, gardening products, decorations, and various snacks! There are at least fifty vendors, and it takes quite some time to browse carefully.
Walking towards the pier at the seaside from the Holiday Market, you will see the pier beach below, which is a great place for families to play in the water. Sometimes you can even see dolphins and turtles!
There is also an excellentHiking attractions:Muttonbird Island Nature Reserve
In addition to the scenic hike, it is also a great place to taste local seafood. The FISH & CHIPS in FISHERMAN'S CO-OPERATIVE are very delicious! There is also Latitude 30. To enter this attraction, you must pass by this restaurant!
The Clog Barn Village, a miniature windmill park in the Netherlands and a clog manufacturer
It is a comprehensive resort with a strong Dutch style founded by Dutch immigrants in 1984. In addition to providing accommodation in luxurious cabins, it also offers Dutch wooden shoe making performances, free visits to a mini Dutch village, Dutch food tasting, Dutch-style souvenir shops and other services. Free Dutch clog making demonstrations are held every day at 11:00, 14:00 and 16:00.
Forest Sky Pier
Located on a hill in the northwest suburb of Coffs Harbour, it is about 10 kilometers drive from the city of Coffs Harbour.
After driving through a steep and narrow mountain road, you will arrive at the top of the hill. From the wooden observation deck suspended in the air, which is about 40 meters long, you can overlook Coffs Harbour, the pier, the airport and the surrounding villages, with an excellent view of the coast. There is a parking lot nearby so you don't have to walk a long way. There is also a treetop park, Tree Top Adventure Park, nearby.
Fishing and sailing are also very popular. At the Butterfly House you can learn about the growth of butterflies and at the Solitary Islands Aquarium you can see the stunningly beautiful clown fish. Skydiving offers a bird's eye view of the entire spectacular coast, and our Chinese friends love to pick lychees at the lychee orchard near the Butterfly House in February every year (169 South Boambee Road, Coffs Harbour, NSW, 2450)
As well as blueberry picking from December to January and July to August every year (Blueberry Picking, 416 Bucca Rd, Bucca, NSW 2450).
Other towns worth visiting near Coffs Harbour include:
Located 48 kilometers from Coffs Harbour, Nambucca Heads, V-WALL is famous for its painted rocks and painted coast. It is one of my favorite areas. There are not many tourists. It is a sparsely populated, quiet and romantic secret place. The seawall divides the sea into two sides, one side is the lake-green lagoon, and the other side is the azure sea. The water is crystal clear, and paired with colorful painted stones and messages from strangers, especially at sunset, the entire coast feels like a poem or painting...very special. Blowing the completely non-sticky sea breeze and stepping on the fine sand, you will stay there for a long time without realizing it. No wonder my old friend Mei Ling gave up her comfortable life in Sydney and came here to run a hotel and enjoy a semi-retired life! (Everyone is welcome to visit her, Mandarin Hotelhttps://mandarinmotel.com.au/) I sincerely recommend that if you come to Cove Harbor, you must put this beach on your itinerary and stay for a night. It is absolutely 100% worth it!
Historic river town: Bellingen
Bellingen, 35 kilometres from Coffs Harbour, is a great place for canoeing. The township is located on the Bellingen River. In 1841, government surveyor Clement Hodgkinson inspected the area. When naming newly discovered places he preferred to use existing local place names rather than foreign ones, so he used the name of the river Gumbaynggir, which was also known as "clean water", "winding river", and "Billingen" became the name of the area. Originally, Bellingen was pronounced "Billingen" with the "ng" pronounced "sing". When the time came to write the word, the indigenous sounds were combined with the European pronunciation to spell it "Billingen", "Billengen", while the town retained the correct name of "Bellingen".
Bellingen was one of the filming locations for the 2003 comedy film Danny Deckchair, written and directed by Jeff Balsmeyer. Bellingen was also the conceptual backdrop for Booker Prize-winning author Peter Carey’s book Oscar and Lucinda. A film version of the novel, Eucalyptus, will also be filmed in Bellingen ahead of the film's release. Bellingen has a strong affinity with the arts and is home to many festivals: the historically popular Global Carnival, the Bellingen Jazz and Blues Festival, and currently Camp Creative, the Bellingen Music Festival (classical music), the Bellow Winter Festival and the Bellingen Readers and Writers Festival which took place for the first time in 2011. The first and original festival is the annual Azalea Festival, which includes a parade of floats, local brass and wind bands, and various community organizations parading down Hyde Street. Bellingen also hosts a plant fair twice a year as a fundraiser for the Bellingen Environmental Centre. These fairs attract thousands of visitors to the town. More recently, there has been an annual gathering of Harley-Davidson motorcycle enthusiasts from Queensland and New South Wales. This annual event is organized by local motorcycle enthusiasts, with riders gathering at Diggers Tavern to stay overnight before riding the area's scenic roads.
Finally, Dorrigo National Park in the Gondwana Rainforests World Heritage Area is also the only way to enter the inland New England mountains. The national park has the famous Skywalk and rainforest hiking. After I introduce Port Macquarie in the next episode, I will take you to the famous cities in New England.
