Itinerary
Day 1
Sydney - Adelaide (Adelaide, South Australia) – Central Market – McLaren Vale Winery - Victor Harbor
Assemble at Sydney Domestic Airport in the morning and take a domestic flight to Adelaide, South Australia's largest city. Upon arrival and transfer, visit Adelaide Central Market and Chinatown for a free lunch. In the afternoon, head to McLaren Vale Winery and Victor Harbor. After dinner, check into your hotel in the city (D).
Day 2
Victoria Harbour - Grant Island - Wellington Ferry - Limestone Coast - The Big Lobster - Robe Harbour
After breakfast, depart at 8am and take a small train or walk 2km across a boardwalk to Granite Island, the closest island to the mainland. After enjoying yourselves, take a 3-hour drive, passing through Wellington en route, and go back in time to take a limited edition ferry across Australia's longest river, the Murray River, entering the Princess Highway. Travel along the Limestone Coast, visit the Lighthouse Museum at Cape Jaffa, and arrive at the Big Lobster town in the evening to take photos with Australia's largest lobster statue. Enjoy a free dinner and check into a local hotel. (B.L)
Day 3
Robe Port – Chinese Landing Site Memorial – Camel Farm – Lobster Factory and Lobster Seafood Lunch – Australian Meat Jerky Factory – Glenelg Volcano Town
After breakfast, we will drive to the Robe Chinese Memorial, which commemorates tens of thousands of Chinese pioneers who, to escape the high head tax imposed on Chinese people in Victoria during the gold rush of the 1850s, chose to land in South Australia and walk to "Jin Shan" (an old name for the Victorian goldfields). Afterwards, we'll visit the fascinating Camel Farm, where you can opt to pay for a tractor ride ($$33, booking recommended) into the camel herd, watching the camels chase the vehicle for food in an exciting and engaging experience. Alternatively, you can enjoy a camel-milk coffee at the farm's café. All guests will receive a complimentary camel-milk ice cream. For lunch, we will visit a Lobster factory and have the option to enjoy a lobster seafood feast. After lunch, we will visit a nearby jerky factory for free tastings and souvenir shopping. In the evening, we will check into our hotel in Mount Gambier and have dinner. (B.D)
Day 4
Volcanic Lake “Blue Lake” - Sunken Gardens - Photographic Resort Dead Tree Lake - Cave Garden
After breakfast, head to the Mount Gambier Crater Lake and the “Blue Lake,” an iconic crater lake known for its seasonal colour change, transforming from a deep grey in winter to a vibrant azure between November and March. You can stroll along its 3.6-kilometre perimeter road and walking track, or admire the panoramic views from viewing platforms. Afterwards, visit the sunken gardens, a former limestone cave that collapsed in 1886 and was subsequently transformed into a lush underground oasis, filled with ferns and hydrangeas. After lunch, proceed to the picturesque Umpherston Sinkhole, a prime photographic spot. In the evening, arrive at the Cave Garden in the city centre, featuring viewing platforms and stairs leading down into the cave where a sound and light show projects historical photos and stories onto the surrounding cliff faces each night. Day 5
Renowned wine-growing regions of Coonawarra & Penola - World Heritage Naracoorte Caves fossil caves - Wetland conservation park
After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, drive for half an hour to the famous wine region of Coonawarra & Penola to sample a variety of red and white wines. At noon, enter the only UNESCO World Heritage site in South Australia, Naracoorte Cave, renowned for preserving the world's most complete fossil record spanning over 500,000 years. In the afternoon, visit the wetland conservation park. Walk 1.5 km (approximately 45 minutes) along the Pat-om Walk trail to the bird-watching platform at the entrance passage, which is located in the deepest section of the lagoon. This area is rich in biodiversity and is a great place to see brolgas, spoon-billed sandpipers, cape barren geese, and migratory birds from the Northern Hemisphere. Check into a nearby hotel for a free dinner in the evening. (B.L)
Day 6
White Kangaroo Country, Bordertown - Clayton Farm Heritage Museum - Prime Minister Bob Hawke's Birthplace
After breakfast, visit the Monarto Safari Park, a unique attraction in South Australia, famous for its large population of white kangaroos. Unlike common albino animals, these kangaroos are a specific genetic variant of the Western Grey Kangaroo, originating from a white male kangaroo introduced to the park in 1980. Visit the Clayton Farm Heritage Museum, which features a restored farmhouse and a variety of vintage agricultural machinery, vividly illustrating early 20th-century rural life. Finally, visit the birthplace and former home of Prime Minister Hawke, before travelling back to Adelaide via Murray Bridge. After a Chinese dinner, check into your hotel (B, D).
Day 7
Visit relatives in Adelaide or add various one-day tours at your own expense, such as: Kangaroo Island and Seal Bay, Adelaide Zoo to see giant pandas... (B)
After breakfast, group members are free to visit relatives or opt for an optional Kangaroo Island tour ($380 p/p for a one-day return trip,$680 p/p for a two-day, one-night trip, including round-trip ferry, meals and entrance fees, etc., as well as 1 night's accommodation).
Day 8
Midday flight back to Sydney
Morning at leisure in Adelaide, then transfer to the airport for a midday flight back to Sydney. Tour ends. (B)

If departure is cancelled due to a government announcement concerning COVID-19 or other emergencies, the fees paid will automatically be retained for the next departure date or as a travel credit valid for one year.
