Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao BridgeHong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge It is a mega cross-sea bridge connecting Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao, with a total length of 55 kilometres, which is the longest cross-sea bridge in the world. One of the largest engineering volume, the highest degree of technical difficulty is about 29.6 kilometres long bridge + island + tunnel cluster of the main project, the main “bridge and tunnel in the sea” is 35.578 kilometres long, of which the submarine tunnels are about 6.75 kilometres long, by the start of the construction in 2009, in January 2018, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge main body of the whole line lights through the inspection, and the official opening on 23 October! The bridge was officially opened to traffic on 23rd October! Upon completion of the HZMB, the journey from Hong Kong to Zhuhai and Macau will be reduced from 4 to 5 hours to about 30 minutes, with an estimated 20,000 to 50,000 vehicles per day and 100,000 to 150,000 passenger trips per day. In addition to the inspection building on the Hong Kong artificial island, there will also be unmanned trains to take passengers from the inspection building to the Hong Kong International Airport for boarding, and observation decks along the bridge for tourists to visit and watch the Chinese White Dolphins. The bridge will cost more than $90 billion and will be jointly funded by the Central Government and the governments of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
